PARK AND RECREATION AREAS

~ 59-1. Motorized vehicles prohibited.

 It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or possess a motorcycle, snowmobile, car or any other motorized vehicle upon town playgrounds, parks or recreation areas.


~ 59-2. Alcoholic beverages prohibited.

 No alcoholic beverages shall be permitted or consumed upon the town playgrounds, parks or recreation areas.


~ 59-3. Horses prohibited.

 It shall be unlawful to ride, drive or otherwise permit a horse to be upon the town playgrounds, parks or recreation areas.


~ 59-4. Hours. [Amended 7-9-1990 by L.L. No. 1-1990]

 The town playgrounds, parks or recreation areas will be closed to the public one-half (1/2) hour after sunset and will remain closed until 6:00 a.m. daily.


~ 59-5. Golfing prohibited.

 It shall be unlawful to hit golf balls or to golf upon the town parks, playgrounds or recreation areas.


~ 59-6. Authorization of activities.

 Those activities prohibited by ~ 59-1, 59-2, 59-3 or 59-5 of this chapter shall be permitted if authorized by order of the Town Board.


~ 59-7. Skateboarding in tennis courts. [Added 6-30-1989 by L.L. No. 5-1989]

 It shall be unlawful to skateboard upon any town tennis courts.


~ 59-8. Dogs. [Added 3-11-1996 by L.L. No. 3-1996]

        A.      Run at large upon the town parks, playgrounds or recreation areas unless such dog is restrained by an adequate collar and leash and accompanied by its owner or a responsible person able to control the animal. If the accompanying owner is a person incapable of controlling this animal for any reason, the owner shall be accompanied by a person capable of exercising such control.

        B.      Cause damage or destruction to town parks, playgrounds or recreation areas or commit a nuisance upon said premises without properly cleaning up and disposing of the same.


~ 59-9. Penalties for offenses.

 A violation of this chapter shall constitute a violation as defined in the Penal Law and shall be punishable by a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.) or by imprisonment for not more than fifteen (15) days, or both.
