Town Clerk and Assistant 

 

**Please note: Town Clerk's Office cannot currently accept credit cards. Payments must be cash, check, or money order.**

Town Clerk cannot assist with traffic tickets, court dates, small claims etc. You will need to contact the COURT Clerks at 518-758-2508

Our office has Birth, Death, and Marriage records for the people who were born, died and married in the Town Kinderhook.

Notary Services
The Town Clerk is a Notary Public; please call ahead if you require this service.

Birth Records
To obtain a copy of a birth record: The cost is $10.00 for each certified copy requested. Proof of Identification is required. All applicants must fill out a NYS form that we provide.

Death Records
To obtain a copy of a Death record: Applicant must be an immediate family member of the deceased. The cost is $10.00 for each certified copy requested. Proof of identification is required. All applicants must fill out a NYS form that we provide.

Marriage Records
To obtain a copy of a marriage record: Applicant must be the bride or groom. Applicants may apply in person at the Town Clerks Office, PO Box P, Kinderhook, NY 12184. The cost is $10.00 for each certified copy requested. Proof of identification is required. All applicants must fill out a NYS form that we provide.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A MARRIAGE LICENSE - in person only.
1. Both partners need to be present.
2. You will need a drivers license or other form of photo ID.
3. You will need to bring your birth certificates.
4. The cost is $40.00
5. Any divorce papers are applicable.
6. Appointments are preferred. Please call to arrange.

Marriage Licenses are not valid until after a 24 hour period and then need to be solemnized within 60 days.

Hometown Heroes Banner Program will run annually in the month of February.

Also available: EZ Pass, Dog Licensing and Dog Park Tags, Lawn and Leaf Permits, Solid Waste Tags, Solid Waste Facility User Cards, Handicap Parking Permits, and DEC Licensing.
